Industrial Shaft-type salt-bath furnaces
for carburizing, nitriding or bright annealing
Salt-bath furnaces provide temperature uniformity throughout the volume and high heat transfer to the products being processed. This provides shorter holding times compared to chamber furnaces. The exclusion of oxygen from the heat treatment process virtually eliminates scaling and discoloration of parts.
Crucibles are used in salt-bath furnaces. They are installed in a suspended state for quick removal and replacement. Crucibles are consumables. During operation, they are exposed to high thermal loads and corrosion from salt.
Important factors affecting the service life of a crucible:
- maximum heating temperature;
- number of heating and cooling cycles;
- activity of the salt environment;
- material of the products being processed;
- number of products being processed;
- presence of contaminants on the products.
It is good practice to regularly check the crucible for damage. It is recommended to always have a spare crucible.
Electrically heated ТермоМастер ®
[ ThermoMaster ] salt-bath furnaces are equipped with high-quality radiant heating elements on ceramic tubes and provide four-sided heating of the crucible. If one heating element fails, heating is provided by the remaining heaters.
Gas-fired ТермоГаз ®
[ ThermoGas ] salt-bath furnaces are equipped with burners with a flame control system. High furnace efficiency is ensured by excess pressure to prevent air suction.
